Event/Dinner in building under construction
Mar 23rd, 2017, 9:24pm

Hi all -- I work for a non profit college that is starting renovations. Our groundbreaking event is going to take place in the gymnasium. We're going to have a bar and cocktail tables set up and rounds for the actual dinner along with screens with images of the new space projected. I was also planning to hang large posters that will show the architects' rendering of the new space. We'll also have draping. I'm just wondering if anyone has any other ideas for decor that will take away from the tackiness of the gym and get people excited for construction to start. I'm worried that it's going to end up looking like a fancy high school prom.

Hi! I recently went to a graduation at a very small highschool in the gym. They covered the floor so you wouldn't see the basketball lines. I thought it looked really great with the matching draping. It was a little while ago, so I can't remember if they used butcher paper, or giant panels of vinyl, but Id look into it!
