Skip goodie bags?
Oct 19th, 2010, 10:46am

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to get some opinion/feedback on this.  My son is turning 10 in a few weeks and plans on having an "all boy" birthday party.  These boys are all in the 10-11-12 age range.  I'm thinking they are a little old for goodie bags now.  Also, at last year's party, one of my son's friends came up to me to complain that the toys in the goodie bags were "cheap"!  I was very taken aback by this as I would NEVER say that to an adult when I was a kid.  Anyway, I'm thinking of not doing goodie bags and just putting the money towards more chips, dip, candy etc.   What do you all think?   Undecided

I think the kids look forward to getting a goodie bag. Are you doing a themed party?

Maybe the kids feel they’re too old for the goodie bags so why don’t you try something different? An action figure or a bobble head doll can serve as a give away with a note tied to it that says “thank you for coming”.

Kids love goody bags. If you are having theme party then you can give away theme based wrist bands or head bands as party favors
