Magic in the Making
Feb 05th, 2010, 3:28pm

So I have been playing with this idea in my head for quite some time now. Not sure why seeing as I am only 20 and do not plan on getting married any time soon. But, hey, why not plan ahead, and I mean waaay ahead.

The idea is a 'Alice In Wonderland' meets 'Willy Wonka' themed party. Could be a bridal shower, or just an engagement party. Not really sure what would be better.

So what I have thought of so far...
~ a mixture of tea cups and saucers found in antique shops and places like that
~ tea pots/kettles to have flowers in as part of the tablescape
~ lots of fun and crazy flower arrangements, not your typical roses or anything like that
~ apothecary jars and other clear containers to house tons on candies
~ tiered stands for finger sandwiches and sweets

Wow, I thought I had thought of more than that. But I am looking for more ideas. What would be a good place to have this party? What sort of color theme? What sorts of fun colored flowers could I use? Really, any ideas are greatly appreciated.

Thanks for taking a look at my post! (And responding if you did that too!)

I remembered more ideas:

~ small bottles of water and soda that say 'drink me'
~ cookies that say 'eat me'
~ cupcakes in theme-related flavors (carrot for white rabbit, red velvet for queen of hearts, devils food for willy wonka, french vanilla for something) that say
~ anitque mirror(s) as decor to play off original 'through the looking glass'
~ tea, honey spoons, chocolates, etc for favors
~ colorful paper lanterns hung over the table and around the room
~ cheshire cat's smile in the window or in the light or somewhere
~ candy pathway with white rabbit footprints

K, that's all I've got for now!
