17th-fairy party help
Sep 24th, 2006, 10:48pm

Hey,
I've decided to have a fairy party for my 17th as a way of saying goodbye to childhood...seeing as the 18th is usually a hello to adulthood.
I'm having 8 girls over and I'm okay with food...
but any ideas on 'fairy-related' games?
or some ideas with decorations would be good...i was thinking of closing off a room and blocking out the windows but putting cellophane over the lights...and balloons everywhere...but its still not very fairy like
i'll be having all the girls coming dressed as a fairy and it'll go from about 6pm-10.30pm.
thanks for any help!

I am planning a fairy party for my 4yr old granddaughter and found great ideas on Pinterest and searched for fairy's there. I plan to use lots of pink tulle fabric, white christmas lights, and curling ribbons to decorate. I also ordered halos from haloheaven I hope this helps and that you have lots of fun!!

Hello, all the best for your party and when is it going to be held? And also see that your granddaughters dress is well designed and she should feel at top of the world. Please also upload photos after the party.

I am a s-l-o-w party planner and won't have the party until next spring/early summer when 12 little girls can play outside. For me the planning is the most fun so I like to take my time. Still looking for ideas on how best to have the party flow smoothly from one activity to the next with 4 year old girls. I'm stuck on their arrival and what I can involve them in while they are waiting for that 15-20 mintues. I will post photos if I can figure out how to do it.

Also want to say that I love Lani_banani's idea of saying good-bye to childhood by having a Fairy party.  I hope there will be photos of her party as well!

Thanks for the sensible critique. Me & my friend were just preparing to do some research about this. We grabbed a book from our local library but I think I learned better from this post. I'm very glad to see such great info being shared freely out there...

Thank-you for the compliment! I hope you will add your ideas to this thread as they develop. It will be so exciting....

Planning this fairy party has been so much fun for me. The ideas out there are incredible and it makes creating a magical atmosphere so much easier than ever trying to do it all alone. What did we ever do without the internet?? ...or these forums? LOL!

Since my first post appeared I think I have found the answer to my own question through continued searches. The beginning of my party will begin with greeting the girls outside. I will be dressed up as a fairy madam. I will ask each girl to close their eyes, spin them around 3 times and tell them if they believe in fairy's they must clap their hands 3 times. If they do, I will sprinkle them with fairy dust and tell them that they will become fairy helpers and/or a fairy just for today. I hope this idea will evolve throughout the party in a "fairy-in-training" theme. We shall see how far I can take it! *grin*

I have some idea of fair party, so I want to share with you. You can decorate the party area with streamers, bunting, fairy lights and balloon stand near the entrance where as the guests arrive, they are each given a brightly coloured balloon and party popper. I think CASH & GUNS game is best for fair party. Shifty eyes. In this game a bag full of cash, Foam guns. Play for keeps in this hysterical who can you trust game.
