HS Graduation Party & 50th bday party combo
Apr 21st, 2006, 1:18pm

It's a big year in our family, my daughter's HS graduation (June 20th), my 50th (July 10) and our 20th annaversary (April 5).  I want to have a celebration with family and friends but I am having a hard time thinking of a joint theme.

We've talked about and everyone likes the idea and we've picked a date July 1st.  I'm thinking we'll have 50-100 folks and we will have the party at our house--using the back yard as well as the inside.  My husband and I will do most of the cooking--any food ideas?

What should I say about presents--I don't want any but think it would be approprite for my daughter.  HELP

Am I crazy for trying a combo?

Thanks,  Robin

I think having the B'day and Anniversary party together is a great idea...but I would definetly have a separate graduation party for your daughter.

If I all possible I would try to have the graduation party separate from the other two events. But if not, maybe try a sort of "that was then, this is now them." For example, compare things such as music, fashion, and dances from what they were like back in 1957 (your birth year), 1987, and what they are like now in 2007. Maybe play music from all three years and decorate different areas of the party location representing each year. It is important that everyone feels comfortable, especially if you invite your daughters friends.
