go to orientaltrading
search for graduation gifts.
They have some things that will work as party favors.
Last year they had little plastic grad caps. You could turn those upside down, put a few jelly beans in it of your school colors and wrap it in tulle and ribbon.

What about graduation cap cookies? Easy and inexpensive to do. Place them in a clear bag and tie with your school colors.

I saw a recipe for those grad cap cookies on the family fun website a couple of years ago. I made them for some students I knew. Looke there and see if it is still available in their archives. It was very simple.

probably too late for ideas but i made a photostory with approx 100 pictures with music and put on dvd for family - you can get program on microsoft (came to less than $2 each) and purchased votive candles with daughters name and class of 2006 on them from oriental trading for use on tabletops (less than $1 each). i bought mirror squares at home depot and placed on tables with the votives in the corners and purchased graduation beads from orientaltrading for less than 25 cents each and laid those around mirros. I then put balloon bunches with ends in megaphones that say "Class of 2006" bought at party store. Centerpieces came to less than $4 each and were all giveaways. The coolest things I made were "diplomas" with mentos. you can find instructions on internet. i used glossy presentation paper and put her name, class of 2006, pics of grad cap and the name of the schools she graduated from on them and purchased boxes of mentos at Sams Club (less than $1 each). I purchased balloons in bulk from oriental trading and rented helium tank from party store for $20. You can almost always find discount codes for oriental trading on flamingoworld. I made my own invitations with invite packages purchased at craft store as well as thank you cards. I also ordered stamps with her graduation picture on them from stamps. All in all everything came out quite nice and I had fun doing it.

do you have coreldraw or microsoft publisher? if so here are two sites:
desktoppub.about

desktoppub.about

or for $20 you can purchase much easier to use software from ebay. I bought candy wrapper designer pro which includes the candy bars, and other items, too...

Graduation Cap candy cups

Purchase 3 or 4 ounce plastic condiment cups with lids at a restaurant supply store.  There are available in black and white.

Fill with candy, put on lid and turn upside down.  Cut a square from cardstock, in the same color as the cup, just a little larger than  the cup, attach a mini tassel or make from dmc floss, attach with a spot of glue and cover glue spot with a bead, again in the same color as the cup and cardstock.

Some people can find confetti in their name or with the graduation year, glue that on top of the mortar board.

I'm also in the middle of giving a first graduation party,so ups to all of  us. I need  help also. Whats the rule in giving out door prizes? Am I to give to everyone or pick a number and say like the 10th person in the door gets one? Plus, I was planning on having a game area. Should I give prizes everytime someone wins or when someone  wins  a certain amount. Please help,I have to do the same thing next year and plan on having this down as a science.lol OH,almost forgot ,when does the grad open gifts. I'm stressing  really stressing. sign Teal

cheap&creative graduate party favors that I'm giving are pencils, pens, I mean you get a lot in a pack and if you separate them and put them in party bags I think they will get a kick out of it,at least they left with a memory. I have pens, pencils, stickers stuff like that since its a graduation party. I hope it works because thats what I'm doing. Like they say, teens like to talk and listen to music, so before you know it they'll be off in a corner chatting about  school days. Hope this helps.
