etiquettes for writing a graduation inviation

I really need some help! Due to limited seating we are only allowed to invite a certain number of people to the commencement ceremony. How do I inform people of this on the party inviation without offending them. I really need some help! Thank you in advance.

Can you do separate invitations?
The ones that go to people NOT invited to commencement could say, "Join us to honor our new graduate" or something to that effect.
Another idea, if you are going more formal, is to say
"Commencement by ticket only" and then include the ticket with the invitation for the people invited to that.
I think most people know that space for commencement exercises is limited. They will understand. I am a high school teacher and at our school, students only have 4 tickets to distribute. However, we have an overflow area with a large screen tv with a live feed for other guests.

Our daughter graduates in June 07, but being the obsessive planner that I am, I have been working on this for a while.

We too, are only able to invite 10 people.  I will be making the invites and announcments.  I plan to make a small folder with pockets, the front of one pocket will have her senior photo, the other, a name card. Inside one pocket will be an announcement only, and the other pocket will be the party invitation.  For the few people we can invite, I will add the information to the announcement.  The folder will close with a ribbon, and the front will be black on black with an embossed tiger head and the the graduation year.  I found a great tiger print paper that I will line the envelopes with.

Hope this gives a few ideas.
